The masked men had it all planned out. The knew Raul Jimenez came from a super wealthy family, a mexican oil magnate. They knew he had had a falling out with the old man so he lived on his own. And they knew he liked to skateboard in Tower Grove Park. They had a very good idea of what he looked like: tall and thin with tattoos.
So when they saw their quarry, they seized their chance. Before their victim could say or do anything, he was grabbed by multiple hands and shoved into their van.
“Hey! What are you.. mmmpphh!?”, was all the young man could say before a strip of black tape cut off his protests. His hands were bound behind his back.
The plan appeared to be going off perfectly. No one saw the taking. The kid was secured without any trouble. He wouldn’t be able to identify them as the masked men all wore masks.
The only problem, one the masked men had not realised, was that the young man they had bound and gagged in their van was not Raul Jimenez. His name was Jon McGurk, his dad was a plumber and like Raul liked to skate in the park.
Of course, being gagged, Jon couldn’t say any of this even if he had know this had been a case of mistaken identity. All Jon knew was that he had been bound and gagged by a group of scary looking guys, driving to who knew well.
The masked men soon came to their hide out, a large house in the country. They had scoped it out and knew the owners had gone on vacation. It was private and secure. No one would find them there.
They dragged Jon out of the van and into the house. Thrown onto the couch, Jon could only sit and hope his masked men didn’t hurt him.
“We need something to show we have him.”, One of the masked men said. For a second, Jon was worried they were going to cut off his thumb. Fortunately all the took was his photo and his shoe.
The masked men then tied Jon’s feet together.
“Ok you stay put, Raul.”
Raul?! That’s when Jon realised that they thought he was someone else!
Unfortunately Jon’s gag was never removed. In fact, they added to it as well as blind folded him.
For the next day, The masked men waited for a response to their demands. And they got it but not where they expected. Ramone Jimenez did not reply. However they did see the story on the news about a taking of Jon McGurk, who looked just like their hostage rolling on the couch and moaning through his gag.
Panicking, the masked men knew they had to get out as fast as they could. Fortunately they had never had any intention of harming their hostage. They knew Jon would never be able to recognise them. So they hog tied him and left their hostage squirming on the floor of the house.
Jon struggled against his bonds. He was not able to get any slack. He could only lay and wait in the hopes that he would be rescued.
When the police came by the next day after getting an anonymous call, Jon had never been so happy in his life.
