The plan was fool proof, Tony had been told. Meet his hook up with the wire under his shirt. They incriminate themselves, the cops come in and Tony avoids a very lengthy vacation at Rykers.
Maybe Tony had been too nervous. Maybe the wire had shown thorough his shirt somehow. Tony couldn't’ say and his buddies never said a word. They just pulled out a concealed item to cover him while they taped Tony’s mouth with black tape.
Tony’s short was ripped off exposing the wire. It was carefully removed while the gang made small talk to cover up the fact that they had discovered the plan. They frisked Tony and to be thorough even took his shoes and wallet.
Tony began to sweat his situation. The cops still thought everything was fine. His former criminal friends could do anything anything they wanted to him and the cops would never know.
The thugs tied him to a chair with clothesline. Rope was knotted and twisted around Tony’s body, binding him tightly. The ropes around his wrists bit into his skin, rubbing them raw.
The thugs left Tony to himself. Beads of perspiration ran down his brow and into his eyes. His hands tied, he could do nothing as as the salty sweat got into his eyes. Tony struggled against the ropes as much as he dared. Tony knew if he struggled to much the gang could decide to off him right there. There was s a thousand ways they could have killed Tony. Gagged as he was, he wouldn't’ even be able to beg for his life. The cops wouldn’t know until it was too late.
Vainly Tony tried ot wiggle his jaw to loosen his gag. But the tape was far too tight and sticky.
One of the gang came back in to check up on Tony, tightening the ropes even further.
“Mmmppphhh!” Tony moaned pitifully. The gag made his begging into unintelligible moans. Tony’s captor made no indication he understood or even cared.
A clock on a wall ticked repeatedly. It had already been an hour! What were the cops waiting for? Surely they had figured out something was wrong by now.
Tony strained to hear what was going on in the next room. The small talk had stopped. Was that the sound of a car?
It was! The thugs were leaving. I might make it out of this yet, Tony thought. All he had ot do was wait for the cops to come rescue him.
Any minute.
The clock showed that another thirty minutes had passed with Tony still tied up and gagged in the house. Then an hour. Then two hours.
“Mmmmmmm!”, Tony grunted in frustration. It was great that he wasn't’ going to die but he also didn't’ want to spend the whole day bound and gagged either. Where were the cops?
Of course Tony had no way of knowing that the gang had taken off in a car, leading to a high speed chase. The cops, assuming that Tony was with the criminals as an insurance plan, never checked the house.
Tied to a chair, his mouth taped, Tony didn't’ get free until six hours later when the cops caught the gang.
The End
