In his career as a priest, Father Storm had heard many confessions in his box from a variety of people. Parishioners have told him about their deepest insecurities, their lies, their acts of adultery and even fraud in some case. As a priest he was bound to remain silent and not to judge anyone and for the most part, he adhered to the guidelines of his sacred calling. However, there were limits.
One raining night, a distressed young man came in and confessed something that even Father Storm couldn't conceal his shock towards. He could see that the confession had done nothing to relieve the man's guilt and he knew that telling the young man to say a few Hail Marys wasn't going to help either. Instead Father Storm urged the young man to do the right thing and go to the police, while adding the veiled threat that he would if the young man didn't. The young man looked initially shocked but left the confession booth promising Father Storm that he would do the right thing and the priest believed that he would.
A week later, Father Storm had been walking home from a house call when a van pulled up on the path beside him. Father Storm hadn't enough time to defend himself before a masked man jumped out from the van and dragged him inside. Father Storm tried to scramble his way out but it was of no use as the van quickly sped off into the night.
A few minutes later, the frightened priest was dragged out of the van by the man who grabbed him and dragged into an abandoned apartment building while the driver found somewhere to park.
"I heard you've been giving bad advice, padre," the masked man said as Father Storm was slammed against a wall.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Father Storm grunted as his hands were being bound tightly. "I don't even know who you are. If you let me go now, I'll pretend this never happened."
"Shut up," the XXXX hissed as he bent down to tie Father Storm's feet.
"You're going nowhere, priest."
"I have money," Father Storm said. "Not from the church but my own account. We can go to an ATM machine. I'll give you what I can. Just don't, don't hurt me, please. I haven't done anything to do."
Father Storm had sounded pleading when he was saying that and he was hoping that his XXXX had enough of a conscience or even basic human greed/self preservation to want his cash. Father Storm wasn't a man who lived extravagantly, so he had enough cash that should tempt some one like the man tying him up to let him go. Unfortunately when he was turned around to face his masked XXXX, he soon realised that he overestimated whom he was trying to reason with.
"I'm afraid your money is no good for now," the man said. "I mean, it's tempting and I'm sure I'll be taking it at some point but for now, it's not enough to get you out of this particular bind, padre."
"Can I at least ask as to why I'm being tied up?" Father Storm demanded, struggling in his bonds. "I swear I don't know you, but you seem to know me."
"Of you," the XXXX corrected him. "Let's just say that last week you gave a certain chap some bad advice and now, thanks to you, he had to dealt with. The priests of old in your church were smarter men. They knew that when guys with guilty consciences would come to them that they were advised to tell the guys to man up and keep their mouths shut. You should've done the same, my friend."
"Wait, a minute, you're the -,"
Father Storm didn't get a chance to finish his sentence, now realising who his XXXX was. The XXXX had tied a large white cloth over his mouth and before the priest could try and get it off him, a roll of silver tape was being added to keep the cloth secured to the priest's big mouth.
Father Storm was then XXXX to sit on the floor and to his XXXX, the XXXX began to unbutton his cassock and gave the frightened a sinister smile before adding.
"By the time, I'm done with you, Father Storm, you'll never give bad advice ever again."
Father Storm just looked on in XXXX as the XXXX left the room. He had a feeling that by the time he returned, he may end up having a similar fate to the young man whom he misguidedly tried to help.
