Troy was a slick player, the slickest there was out there. There wasn't anyone he couldn't outwit, any trick he couldn't pull off and no con was too big or small for him to try his hand at. Even those who looked like they would know better were often taken in by Troy's charms and sleight of hand.
Sometimes Troy would feel a little bad about the rich snobs that made up his marks but then he'd remember that not a single one of them amassed their fortune through honest means so stealing from them was poetic justice in its own way, even Troy himself was slowly becoming the very thing he had despised himself.
Another thing Troy didn't realize was that poetic justice worked both ways and one night after fleecing a retired couple most of their life insurance, Troy found himself at a bar enjoying some of his ill gotten gains.
A man had approached him at the bar and Troy had let his guard. Without realizing it himself, the same tricks Troy had used on so many people before were now being used on him but that was the least of Troy's problems when he failed to realize that his new best friend had slipped something into his drink and Troy began to lose consciousness.
When Troy woke up an hour later, he was no longer at the bar. He was somewhere else unknown to him, tied and gagged with socks sitting on a chair. He called out for help but no one answered. He looked around the room and knew that he had to try and escape as he had no intention of waiting to find out what was in store for him. Still not feeling entirely himself, Troy took a fall to the ground as he feebly tried to free himself but to no avail.
Eventually the man that had been with Troy in the bar and the one responsible for the latter's current predicament had returned, amused with Troy writhing on the floor and asking if he was trying to escape. Troy demanded answers and his captor was only too happy to oblige on giving them. It seemed that the last couple that Troy had conned a lot of money from were his parents and he was not pleased that his parents were disrespected in such a manner. Troy realised then that the people he conned had some mafia links and that his captor was told to make an example out of Troy. Troy gulped as his captor pulled his trousers down and asked if he was attached to his expensive suit.
No amount of sweet talking or begging was going to get Troy out of this mess. He could dread what was going to happen to him next.
