It had been two years since Detective Jon Storm had exposed the biggest mayoral scandal and had taken out the most corrupt Mayor in his city. It had nearly cost him his life but he had managed to escape from the Mayor's most trusted henchman and with the damning evidence that Detective Storm had produced, the Mayor's reign had ended and he was sent to prison.
In the two years since, Storm's working life had seen a few more high profile cases come his way and things looked like they were going great for him. Then the worst thing that could've happened did happen.
The Mayor he had managed to get sent to prison had managed to find a way to get himself out of prison. It seems that he had found a loophole in Storm's evidence that not only saw his release from prison but also saw Storm relegated to taking a job as a private detective as his station had been XXXX to fire him.
Storm had to sit back and let this guy get re-elected as Mayor, powerless to stop while also trying to salvage a career without the safety net of a pension to his name.
Storm knew the evidence he had was good, he knew that Mayor was as corrupt as anything and he knew that he had to find a way to prove it again. Storm gave the re-elected Mayor the illusion that he had left town in a huff but Storm decided to be a bit more secretive and delved even deeper into the Mayor's past once again, his searching actually taking him to another state where the Mayor in question had lived fifteen years beforehand under a different name and with a string of business hazards under his former name's belt. It was pretty damning evidence, stuff that Jon had wished he had found beforehand but this time, he knew he had the son of a bitch.
Unfortunately for Jon, the Mayor knew him better than he wish he had done. The Mayor knew that Jon Storm would never let their feud go and the Mayor knew that he needed to get rid of Detective Jon Storm, once and for all.
It was because of this that the Mayor contacted his favourite henchman and as Jon was about to come back to town, he needed to check out his home since he last seen it.
When Jon came home, he was in for a surprise. The thug who had previous tied him up was waiting for him. Jon turned to see a XXXX pointing in his way.
"It's been a while, Detective Storm," the thug smiled as though he was genuinely pleased to see Jon. Jon on the other hand was foolishly unarmed and had no choice to but to raise his hands in surrender. This pleased his "visitor". "Good boy, Jon. You can guess what's going to happen next, right?"
"God damn it," Jon muttered before a cloth was placed over his mouth. He struggled for a moment before the effects kicked in and he slumped to the ground in a heap.
"Why are the pretty ones always the most stupid?" the thug smiled, having a feel in all of Jon's pockets and producing the detective's car keys and a flash drive.
With a computer at hand, the thug was able to check out the incriminating files on the flash drive and the paper work that had been in Jon's car was now being shoved into a shredder, making sure that all the hard evidence that Jon Storm had gathered was completely gone as though it had never existed in the first place. The thug admired Jon's determination and actual detective work. It was almost a shame that this time around he had to get rid of the dashing detective but he was too much of a liability to keep around.
As for Jon, being XXXX wasn't enough. He soon woke up to find himself tied up tightly in rope and gagged just as tightly with a large white cloth tied over his mouth. It was exactly like one of those classic detective serials, except Jon had a horrible feeling that this wouldn't end with his escape and victory like last time.
It didn't stop Jon from trying to make as much noise as possible to attract outside help and it certainly didn't stop him from trying his hardest to get out of his bonds with no success at all.
When calling for help and trying to break free both failed, the only other option and one that Jon loathed to resort was to beg for his freedom. This would mean promising to hand over all of his information but Jon had a horrible feeling that all of his evidence while he had been unconscious was long gone by now and when his captor finally came back to him, there was a dark glint in his eye that made Jon fear for the worst.
"Come on, Detective Storm," the captor said, grabbing Jon by his neck and dragging him out of the house. "It's time we went for a ride."
That was the last time that anyone ever saw Detective Jon Storm again or was it?
